In Near FM’s Mad About Media, students from FET College Dhúlaigh take on the big questions, interviewing journalists, academics, and experts about the forces shaping the media we consume every day and finding out how to navigate the world in 2026.

From online influence to misinformation, online gambling to platform ownership, this series is about curiosity, critical thinking and making media. The first guest on Episode 2 is Dr Eileen Culloty, Co-Chair of Media Literacy Ireland and Associate Professor in the School of Communications where she is Deputy Director of the DCU Institute for Media, Democracy, and Society and chair of the BA in Communication Studies. The second guest on the show is Leon Diop, Co-founder & Chief Executive Officer of ‘Black & Irish’, an organisation which advocates for the Black community in Ireland, and builds and connects all Black communities with the wider Irish society to educate everyone in Ireland to adopt an anti-racist mindset.
